Victorian District

Within walking district of our host hotel, you'll see a bit of a transition into the Victorian District. Admire the architecture on your own or as part of a tour in this 50-block neighborhood, known as Savannah’s first suburb. See fine examples of Victorian homes dating to the 1800s. Prominent features on the two-story frame homes include turrets, towers, bay windows, decorative trim and whimsical colors. Snap a photo and capture the famous fountain and beautiful grounds at Forsyth Park. Be sure to make some time for
Savannah on Wheels to rent a bike or take a guided bike tour!

Starland District

In this artsy neighborhood dreamed up in the late 1990s by two
Savannah College of Art and Design students, creativity fuels the community. Fun and funky shops, galleries and studios now thrive in once-rundown buildings. Shop for vintage clothing, vinyl records and original art, and treat your taste buds to a number of quaint and quirky cafes. Although the exact dimension of this distinctive area varies according to who you ask, most people agree that the roughly 35 blocks start at the base of the southern part of Forsyth park and run until Victory Drive, with Bull Street at the center. If you make it to Starland, Back in the Day Bakery is a must, serving up time-honored recipes made by hand with the highest quality ingredients. Don't miss their signature vanilla cupcakes or Biscones – a cross between a scone and a biscuit.

Moon River District

Just 20 minutes south of downtown, you can hike a trail on a barrier island, visit a village, learn about the Gullah-Geechee culture and see sea creatures in an aquarium. The Moon River District (yes, it's that song!) stretches along the Moon and Skidaway Rivers. It includes Isle of Hope, Skidaway Island, Ossabaw Island and the Sandfly area. For the full experience, see it from the water with Moon River Kayak Tours alongside eagles, osprey, dolphins, and otters you'll meet along the way. It's a great place to find get outdoors and experience the low country.
